Flex Rewards

with Puget Energy Sound (PSE)

What are Flex Rewards?
Flex Rewards is a voluntary program that incentivizes customers to take simple steps to conserve during Flex events - days when electricity usage is forecasted to peak. When demand is high, individual actions such as turning off large appliances can collectively make a big impact in balancing the electrical load.

Flex Events
Have you heard about Flex events? They're times when the demand for energy temporarily peaks, and we encourage conservation to help maintain grid reliability.
‍ ‍
With Flex Rewards, you can get paid for participating in Flex events!
Earn $25 for enrolling now, and when a Flex event is scheduled to occur, you’ll receive a notification by email or text. Then, take simple energy-saving actions, like turning off large appliances, and you’ll earn an additional $1 for each kilowatt-hour saved.
‍ ‍
Flex Rewards offers you the flexibility to conserve as much or as little as you're comfortable with. There is never a penalty for opting out of a Flex event, which will only happen between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. and last an average of just four hours.
‍ ‍
Join the thousands of others who are already part of Flex Rewards and get $25 today!

You may have already received notifications of Flex events, but enrolling in Flex Rewards offers you the opportunity to be rewarded for your participation!

PSE customers can apply online to receive a discount of 5% to 45% off their electric or gas bill. In addition, when they sign up for Bill Discount Rate, they will be signed up to receive a PSE Help credit of $100 to $1000 to their PSE account.

Here are somethings to note regarding those two programs:

Two programs, one online application:

Bill Discount Rate

  • 5% to 45% off PSE bill

  • Discount is valid for one year (must reapply each year)

  • Discount will appear on PSE bill the month after application is submitted

SE Help

  • Credit of $100 to $1000 to PSE account

  • One time yearly payment

  • Credit will take 2 to 3 months to show up in PSE account

  • No need to contact Multi-service Center, Hopelink, or Byrd Place for appointment anymore

There is NO need for PSE customers to upload any documents or proof of income to the application, however income does need to be noted on the application for all household members over the age of 18 and the customer must meet PSE’s income guidelines. Also, 5% of our applicants will be audited and will need to provide proof of income at that time.
