Cinematique 2025

Reflecting on our 13th - and biggest - year in Fostering Community and Connection.

Cinematique 2025 marked the 13th annual gathering of families, partners, and community organizations committed to uplifting foster and underserved youth across Washington State.

Hosted at the Evergreen Ballroom and Foyer at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, we were overjoyed seeing 408 registered families — 2,115 people totalfor an evening centered on connection, access, and joy.

Families arrived from across the region, with the largest representation from Seattle (24%) and Bellevue (22%), followed by Kent (10%), Redmond (5%), Federal Way (5%), and communities statewide. Nearly 70% of registered families identified as BIPOC, reflecting the diverse communities Cinematique continues to serve.

With the support of 9 collaborating partners, 41 tabling organizations, and over 40 dedicated volunteers, families gained access to critical services, educational resources, and meaningful giveaways. On-site offerings included free flu vaccinations by Walgreens, medical check-ups from Meharry Medical School students, free haircuts by Clipper’s Covenant, dental kits, and health screenings, ensuring families could leave supported beyond the event itself.

The resource fair was paired with hands-on activities and festive fun. Youth and families enjoyed an arts and crafts station hosted by the National League of Young Men, an activities area with Giant Cornhole, Connect 4, snakes and ladders, and open space to dance, along with soccer ball giveaways from the YMCA of Greater Seattle. The SmilePatrol photobooth captured memories throughout the evening.

Attendees also received an array of high-impact gifts and prizes, including Seattle Aquarium tickets, art museum passes, baseball tote bags, gift cards, and prize drawings featuring items from the Seattle Kraken, Mariners, and Storm. Passport completion encouraged families to engage with every resource provider while ensuring equitable access to giveaways.

The energy of the evening was anchored by our lovely MC, Nate Miles, whose warmth and momentum carried the program throughout the night. Families were delighted by special appearances from Santa Claus, Harry the Husky, and a very special appearance from Seattle SuperSonics Legend Shawn Kemp, who spent time taking photos and connecting with attendees throughout the event —adding to the sense of celebration and community.

As Cinematique 2025 came to a close, families were invited to continue the holiday experience at Snowflake Lane, extending the spirit of the evening into the wider community.

We are deeply grateful to every partner, volunteer, sponsor, and family who made Cinematique 2025 possible. Together, we created more than an event—we created access, connection, and moments that matter.

Cinematique 2026 is planned for Sunday, December 13, 2026. We look forward to welcoming our community back again next year.
